A New Look For Our Agendas

November 7, 2011 by · No Comments · Classroom News and Events

It became obvious very quickly that our improvised, agenda notebooks were not working well. So, we’ve made a change.

Look for a reddish orange, plastic folder.  A very nice bright colour and one that really “stands out in a crowd”. Inside are the agenda pages. There is space for homework, upcoming events and notes between home and school. You should see this folder every single day whether your child has homework or not. Please initial the agenda. I will do the same every day.

Remember, you should see this folder every day whether there is homework or not. Your initials tell me that you have seen it, as mine tell you I have seen it.

Math – Multiplication Facts

October 21, 2011 by · No Comments · Classroom News and Events, Things We're Up To

We remain focused on developing mastery of the multiplication tables.  Grade 4 students should be learning 1 – 10 times tables and Grade 5 students should be learning 1-12 times tables.  We practice every day with a 10 minute warm up.  It would be extremely beneficial for students to practice for another 5 or 10 minutes every day, at home.
